Solbrol® PEH is a powerful preservative blend composed of Ethylhexylglycerin and Phenoxyethanol. It offers protection against a broad range of microbes and is particularly effective against fungi.  Solbrol® PEH is suitable for the application in skin care and hair care formulations and color cosmetics. It can be used in acidic and mild alkaline environment.  The recommended use concentration is 0.5 - 1.0%.

Industrial Uses

1. Personal Care

  • Preservative: Solbrol® PEH (Phenoxyethanol) is mainly used as a broad-spectrum preservative in personal care formulations like lotions, shampoos, conditioners, creams, and serums. It prevents the growth of bacteria, yeast, and mold, which can otherwise spoil the product or cause skin infections. This helps extend the product’s shelf life and ensures safety for consumers even after opening the packaging.
  • Fragrance Fixative: Perfumes and scented products often lose their aroma quickly due to evaporation of volatile fragrance molecules. Solbrol® PEH works as a fixative, meaning it slows down the evaporation rate of fragrance components, making the scent last longer on skin or in the product. It also helps stabilize the perfume oils within creams, lotions, and sprays, preventing them from degrading or separating over time.
